Our home has three bathrooms and two of them were in need of attention. The bathroom in the master bedroom is in desperate need to be completely gutted, so much of our money will be going into that one in the next few months. Stay tuned for updates on that! For now let’s talk about the bathroom we updated on a budget.

The first thing to go was the long mirror. It was super easy to get down with just removing some screws. There was a hole in the wall where the medicine cabinet was that we decided to patch up. It could have been left though as the mirror was big enough to cover the hole. I bought the mirror for $35 through Home Depot. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Martha-Stewart-Living-Grasmere-30-in-x-24-in-Black-Framed-Mirror-71902/202504231?MERCH=REC-_-PIPHorizontal2_rr-_-202504235-_-202504231-_-N

On the other side of the mirror. I added two small prints. The frames I bought at Target for $4. I stained them and added some prints that I had found from Etsy. If you are really crafty you can draw up something yourself.

The hardest part of this little project was the shower! Like I said, we are saving our money for our master bath, so we aren’t quite ready to get new tile and a tub for this one. I decided to paint the shower and tub, and I couldn’t be more happy with it! It looks sooo much better! Now, I personally don’t think it will hold up for more than a few years, but for now it worked perfect. It’s extremely potent paint, so please make sure to use a respirator mask. The tile paint I used was this one: https://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-7860519-Refinishing-2-Part-White/dp/B000PTSBKW/ref=asc_df_B000PTSBKW/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167155426463&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8729143348463383370&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007244&hvtargid=pla-309379953833&psc=1
I needed to use two boxes of the tile paint. One box covers two coats. I did 3 coats instead of the suggested 2. If my bath was a lighter color, I’m sure I could have done just fine with the 2 coats. The paint I used for the wall and ceilings was left over paint I had from another room. I also painted the cabinet black and added new hardware to give it a more fresh look. The total cost of hardware, paint, and mirror was under $200. I plan on updating the floors in this bathroom when I complete the master bath, as I will be using the same flooring for both rooms.
